Want to read a book with nice connecting plots? Well, you've come to the right place because this book has 3 stories, and 3 different characters from 3 different eras that weave together at the end!! Are you ready to learn more about the book, to make sure you want to read it? Then come on in!!

This is an amazing historical fiction book that is placed in three different eras of time with three different characters. First, you will meet Josef - a Jewish boy living in the era of 1930s Nazi Germany, and his family is trying to escape to Cuba to find refuge. Then you will meet a Cuban girl named Isabel living in 1994, at her home there are tons of riots and no food they are going to America in hope of finding refuge. Last but not least you will meet Mahmoud in Syria in 2015, there is war and destruction and no peace in his country, and his family is going to Europe in hope of refuge. All these kids need one thing, Refuge and that is the reason that all the stories amazingly weave together even though being in different eras and different places! The story kept me guessing the whole time and I kept wondering how will these different stories would come together! The book kind of made me sad and feel bad for them a lot, like when one of the characters died and how they described the how bad the circumstances were and how unsafe they were feeling all the time, it really made me feel like we are lucky that we live in a safe place and we should not take the things that we have for granted. Personally, I don’t read historical fiction books but this one was a really good book, so if you are not feeling sure to read this book because you don't read historical fiction that often, then don't worry and just read it, I guarantee it will be worth your while! I recommend this book to middle schoolers because there is violence and war. I would give this book a 4.5 out of 5 because of the war part but I loved this book and I hope you do too!!!
